Brief Profile
The Internal Control Unit seeks to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of organisational goals and objectives while ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, reliability of financial reporting, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Unit is driven by policies, procedures, and processes set up by Management, as well as relevant government policies.
Core Functions
- Planning and leading the execution of internal audit operations.
- Conducting management checks and spot checks on regional office operations and performance.
- Performing timely and independent reviews and investigations as required by Council.
- Providing control measures to prevent and detect anomalies that could lead to loss of revenue, assets, or disruption of critical business operations.
