Corporate Communications Unit

The Corporate Communications Unit serves as CPN’s strategic hub for managing corporate communication, public relations, stakeholder engagement, media relations, digital communications, and the Council’s reputation and public image.

Activities of the corporate communication unit

The Corporate Communications Unit serve as the Council’s strategic communication and reputation-management hub, responsible for managing the Council's corporate identity, reputation, public information, media relations, stakeholder engagement, publications and digital communications. It is a service unit in the Registrar’s Office, and is a vital part of maintaining CPN’s image and of communicating clear unambiguous message to its members, and the general public. 

The Unit ensures that every CPN activity is properly communicated; every official message is accurate and consistent; every stakeholder understands CPN's value; and the reputation of the Council is deliberately protected and strengthened.

The Unit provides proactive PR to the organization through the following activities: -

a.       Coordinates all corporate communications activities

b.      Protects and enhances CPN's corporate reputation.

c.       Communicates the mandate, policies, programmes and achievements of the Council. 

d.      Manages CPN's relationship with the media, stakeholders, members and the public. 

e.       Ensures consistency in CPN's corporate voice, messaging and visual identity. 

f.        Promotes the professionalism, ethics and value of the computing profession. 

g.       Publicizes CPN's regulatory activities, programmes, events and initiatives. 

h.       Provides timely and accurate information during issues or crises affecting CPN. 

i.        Positions CPN as an authoritative voice on IT professionalism, digital regulation, cybersecurity, emerging technologies and the digital economy.

j.        Prepares and distribute press releases. 

k.      Develops media contacts and relationships. 

l.        Arranges interviews, press briefings and media engagements. 

m.     Prepares responses to media enquiries. 

n.      Coordinates statements from the Registrar/Secretary to Council and the President/Chairman of Council.

o.      Develops internal newsletters and staff bulletins. 

p.      Communicates Council decisions and management directives.

q.      Manages CPN's official social-media platforms

r.       Coordinates the publication of CPN eNewsletter

s.       Develops and maintains CPN’s Corporate Communications Manual

The Corporate Communications Unit tells the CPN story, protect the CPN brand, explain CPN's regulatory mandate, amplify the Council's achievements, engage stakeholders and build public confidence in professional computing regulation.
